Mising Sports Carnival – A Brief Overview

The Mising Sports Carnival, a grand celebration of youth talent and athletic spirit, was first organized under the name “Mising Olympics” in Jonai on 25th, 26th, and 27th October 2023. The inaugural event witnessed an overwhelming participation of over 50,000 young boys and girls from various village, regional, and district levels, each showcasing their skill, dedication, and enthusiasm for sports.

Following the preliminary stages, around 2,000 athletes qualified to compete in the Central-Level Grand Mising Olympics held at Jonai. The event featured 11 different sporting disciplines, conducted under the supervision and recognition of various State Government departments and sports authority officials.

To motivate and honor the athletes, medals, certificates, and cash prizes were awarded to the winners. Among the competing contingents, the Majuli District Committee emerged as the Champion, while the Dhemaji District Committee secured the Runner-up position.

The Mising Olympics at Jonai marked a historic milestone in promoting sportsmanship, unity, and youth empowerment within the Mising community, laying the foundation for what has now evolved into the Mising Sports Carnival.

* 04.40 PM : Introduction to the march of the players at the Mising Sports Carnival
* 05.00 PM : Raising the TMPK Flag and Olympic Flag (Mising National Song)
* 05.10 PM : Lecture by 1) the President of Reception Committee
